10 weeks has gone by... another 10 weeks has yet to come...

10 more weeks to my end of my attachment...
10 more weeks to my final submission of my FYP report...
10 more weeks to my FYP presentation...
10 more weeks to my graduation...
10 more weeks to the end of my polytechnic life...
10 more weeks to the beginning of my work break...
10 more weeks to knowing the posting date of my NS enlistment...

life is going by so quickly these days...

We start work at 9am... we look forward to lunch at 12.15, and when we return to work at 1.15, we look forward to knock off time at 5.30... especially when we're busy with work and experiments... time really flies...

Parents and brother off in genting over the weekends... leaving me all alone at home... =P and i thank god they did... haha... :rolls eyes:



learnt another lesson this week... living your day in life without talking to God at all, makes eugene a miserable eugene.

But Nnnnnooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... it has to come at 5pm... a darn blood sample has to come a 5pm... Zzzz.... of

all times in the day, why come at 5pm? deprive me of my rest and knock off time? Harlow?! Eugene has a social life too ok... Eugene

has friends he would have dinner with at 5.30... Eugene would rather go home or hang out with frens than staying in the lab and

process the darn blood...

Ok, then Eugene starts reflecting... he thinks:

"HEY, theres a sample for u n00b! Its good ma! Its for your project leh! Stop complaining la!"

Ok fine... i shall use that to motivate me whee... yay, more samples means bedder hope for my FYP! Yay i shall work overtime whee!!

Then Eugene's neurotransmittor in his brain synapses starts firing again, and Eugene thinks:

"Eh... wtf... there are ppl in the next building in SGH, who are also working late, who are also working on their own samples for their

project, who ARE ALSO RECEIVING AN ALLOWENCE!!"

Ok... something is seriously not right here...

Ok... and IF dr vijaya or Mr Loh is reading this... PLS STOP GIVING THE SAME EXCUSES OF: "let the experiences of SIP enrich you

even though u are not paid"

Recently i heard something from cheechew they all... apprently (pls correct me if im wrong), yuan chun could have gotten an allowence

from the National Heart Centre, but she needed a signature from Dr. Vijaya first. And apparently from wad i heard, Vijaya got pretty

angry, as she kept emphazing how WE CANNOT NEGOCIATE about pays/allowences.

No.1: in the farking first place, we arent getting paid. Wad yuan chun was doing wasn't negociating...
No.2: Why is Dr. Vijaya insisting on not signing? Harlow?! She has an opportunity to get an allowence, from a previous allowennce of

$0 why arent u happy? Are u angry just becoz your student is reciving an allowence? Are u angry becoz tt Yuan chun need no

longer give free labour to SGH??

Before i go on; just a reminder: this is my Blog... a medium that i use to express wad i feel or how i feel about certain issues regarding

my life. Free speech. Its a right that we have. My opinions... as everyone has a right to have a view on certain issues. All of us are

made differently, wad i feel may not be wad you feel about the same issues. If you as a reader have objections to wad i said

Some stuff that i say here, are said for a reason. because i couldnt bring myself to say it in public, or in front of related people.

For example: If one day YOU see a guy, and as he walked past you, he accidently steps on your toes. Without feeling sorry or being

apologetic, he storms off and walks away...

Naturally you will be irritated, maybe pissed. Eventually u may forgive him in ur heart. who knows. Maybe u will curse and swear at

him. maybe u will just forget about the incident and move on to where u walking to. But 90% of Singaporeans will start to create a

negative image of him. They will start complaining and bad-mouthing to their frens on how this retarded guy stepped on their toes. They

will badmouth to their frens, but not to the guy himself...

back to my main point... of course wad ever i just said here wont be told to Vijaya la... i will tell my frens and complain here abt wad i

feel, coz my frens are going thru the same dung tt im going thru... they are in the same shoes as me. If i go tell this straight to vijaya,

and since they are not EUGENE, and they DO NOT know wad im going thru, of coz she will flame me! Zzzz...

If they wanna make the expriences of the SIP similar to that of the working life, than we should have an alllowance! Who works for free in this world? How is a payless SIP similar to that of a working life? Are lecturers teaching for free? Are doctors seeing pateints for free? Are roadsweepers sweeping for free?

NP has a policy tt they pay their students (at least for the bio side) a minimum allowance in cases tt their company so not pay them. Will TP do anything for their SIP students?

No offense to any lectures in my school... you ppl are great... just that there are so much that could be done...

Im just sick and tired of today... drained... forgive me... gd nite...

I just don't understand... perhaps someone would like to enlighten me...

My SIP supervisor in SGH, always encouage me to ask questions when i'm in doubt or when i'm lost at a particular experiment method etc... Yea asking and clarifying with her is good... saves me the risk of screwing things up.

But most of the time she is always busy with her own work, and being myself i sometimes wouldnt want to distract her and make her lose her focus in wadeva she is doing. Sometimes i would just wait for a (possibly) right moment before i ask any

questions that i have. But sometimes when i see her dwelling in her work, she seems so busy, and with the 'black face' of hers, you know shes not in a good mood, and distrupting her to ask a qns for my own benefit may piss her. Sigh...

There was also once i asked her something regarding a procedure of an experiment, after asking, she sort of ignored me and continued by saying:

"wad did u say again? erm sorry, when im busy, i sometimes dun always listen to you..."

Zzzz...

erm ok... maybe u were really busy... its ok... no offense taken...

But, i called her this morning wen i arrived at work. She was on leave. I called her HP. wanted to ask her about me taking a half day leave, so that i can go back to schol and hand in my project proposal which is due today. After asking her and informing if i

could leave at about 3pm+, this was her reply:

"okok. er eugene, next time when on i'm leave, please don't call me."

ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

She wins. - -a

And wad if I dun seek her permission and go on with my plans w/o telling her? will she come blame me if so happens a patient sample comes in and there is no one in the lab to process the sample?

If im halfway in an expriment and needed some advise, and if i dun ask her, will she come put the blame on me if anything

goes wrong?

She wins... i got owned as usual...

Sigh... it sucks... when u want to be there for someone but you can't... held down by some thing called FYP's proposal... Zzzz...

Ok here's some super quick updates: Exams over, currently on student attachment.

Ok, so the school calls it SIP, also known as Student Internship programme. But what JianHua mentioned on his blog, it should be renamed to SEP, Student Exploitation programme. Well for him it may not be, coz he's getting paid. a small sum

bedder than none. fine. But as for some of us in SINGHEALTH, our current pay is:

Wow such an amazing sum, now tts really exploitation. Ok, maybe we shouldnt use such strong words. SIP is fun. well at

least for me, enjoying myself most of the time. Except the times when i have to rantings from my supervisor. but that's ok, its

all part of the worklife. Submitting to authorities... Lets all just treat it as a learning experience there.

Learning experience. The same reason (or excuse) they give us when they are not paying us.

"oh oh, we're sorry we couldn't give any allowence, but remember that valuable experiences in the working life is what you should be attaining at the end"

erm ok. but if you guys wanna make the SIP programme so 'alike' to the workinglife, why the zero allowance? Sources from other attachment students working in SGH, that NP students (or NYP students, shit i forgot), on events that their company do

not pay their students, the School will instead give their students a minimum allowance!! (pls correct me if im mistaken here)

another thing, Victor made a very interesting point a couple of days ago while we were having lunch. Students that we know who are receiving an alowence for SIP averages about $420. (i think) So lets be fair and round it down to about $400. SIP last

for 5 months, so 400 multiply by 5 gives us $2000.

So... looking into another perspective, for those who are not getting paid for SIP, we are indirectly Paying this 2000 dough Just

so that we can do our Major Project at our workplace. Becoz w/o this MP, we will not graduate.

Conclusion: We at SINGHEALTH are paying $2000, just so that we can do our final year projects, while ppl at the other companies (who are receiving allowances) do not have to pay anything to their Project.
